Poem: I Say This

Poem: I Say This
 Life gives you a road
To your destiny
It shakes and curses at you
Demanding you not to falter.

But you are my song
that drowns a cacophony
I am so relieved
In a world that wonders why I do not grieve

Power flows between my fingertips
A steady beat
Power glides in my cells
Like a calling

They may scoff and jeer
Lies that are like knives
Leaving behind goosebumps on bare skin
But drown it out
Ignorance is not your melody.

Elated
I own this sensation
Let it be my shield against disappointment
Music cannot let you down

So, I say
It is more than beauty
More than desire
It is their voice that speaks to me
In a world that encourages silence.
