Poem: Shattered Spark

Poem: Shattered Spark

It’s like I’m trying to

shoot down the air,

part the clouds with a knife,

nothing to dig my nails into

but my own palms.

Squeeze the pain in my hands

from the broken pieces of a mirror

stuck in my lifeblood,

fallen like autumn leaves

from the mitosis

of my reflection,

as eyes stared deep within

only to be

blurred with

the smoke of the conflict.
