Poem: Unbroken Words
I couldn’t keep any breath I took. And it felt like I couldn’t keep anything at all. The walls inside me became cracked soil. Dry. Itchy. Barely alive. White turned into lilac. My throat turned into a whistle, blocking every other syllable from coming out. As I pushed back the tears from being another enemy to the fight within me. I dreamt of a future my voice will be heard in unbroken words.
